1. What is Mystery Café?

Mystery Cafe' is San Diego's longest running dinner theatre. You arrive at our restaurant ready for a night of hilarious fun. After being seated at your dinner table with all the other guests for that night, the comedy and dinner begins! Our actors put on an interactive mystery comedy play---while serving you a delicious meal.

If you do not want to participate, not to worry, our actors are very clever at knowing who wants to participate and who does not, so sit back and enjoy. The murderously funny murder mystery unfolds right there at your dinner table. Your only job is to guess "whodunit"!! And, of course, to enjoy your fabulous meal and all the laughter. Talented actors, authentic costumes, lighting and period costumes bring to life our professionally scripted mystery comedy plays.

3. How much are tickets?

Friday (8pm) $59.50 Includes 4 course meal, show & tax. Gratuity and bar beverages are additional.

Saturday (8pm) $59.50 Includes 4 course meal, show & tax. Gratuity and bar beverages are additional.

If there is a birthday or anniversary celebration going on, make sure you order our "Celebration Package" for the special person or couple to help them celebrate their special event.

4. What do I eat?

The menu includes a sit down multi-course meal. Vegetarian and special diets are accommodated. When you buy your tickets online or when you call us to buy your tickets, you make your meal choice for each ticket purchased.

5. What should I wear?

Dress for the evening is nice/casual. You'll feel comfortable dressed up or snappy casual.

6. Will we be involved?

Audience participation is voluntary. It's up to you if you want to join in or not. The actors are skilled at knowing who wants to interact and who doesn't. With some cameo roles, our actors approach guest before the show begins to make sure you want to participate. And for those of you who do want to play along with the fun---well, you and your friends will be laughing so hard at the clever way the actors draw folks into the "whodunit" that there will be no time to be shy.

8. Are there group rates and other discounts?

Yes. We offer discounts for groups of 8 or more, as well as senior, student and military discounts. Custom Scenarios or Corporate Events are our specialties. Contact us via phone at 619-460-2200 or info@mysterycafe.net for specific rates and information.

9. Do you offer onsite/offsite parties?

Mystery Cafe' is available for private shows at our location or a location of your choice. January thru November we offer private shows at the Imperial House Monday-Thursday for groups with a 50 person minimum-on Sunday, we require a 75 person minimum. Please call (619) 544-1664 for private show availability in December. Custom mysteries are available 7 nights a week for groups of any size at a location of your choice. (See Traveling Troupe)

10. What else do you offer?

Custom mysteries are also available where the entertainers perform and mingle throughout the crowd and engage all of your guests in interactive show sequences. These sequences may include a group theme song, singing and dancing auditions, games and music. We provide a fun and exciting evening your guests will long remember. Expect the unexpected!
